Just as other great stories, ours begins as a love story (que audience awe’s). Sarah Hamlin and Mark Johnston met in college one cold winter night at Bowling Green State University. Mark left an impression on Sarah and shortly after, the two became college sweethearts. In 2001, with focus and determination, no loans or financial assistance, they took the leap to start their screen printing and promotional products company. Within just a few months, Mark proposed to Sarah. They planned their wedding and ran a new business in the same year (crazy kids). By 2004, after growth and success in the face of overwhelming odds, they had the company certified as a corporation.
With a need to make their mark on this ever-growing thing called the internet, they made the business decision to change the name to PromoSpark. From the beginning, Sarah and Mark grew the company on the belief of providing distinctive, quality products and outstanding customer service. They believed in being authentic and creating relationships through trust with their customers and employees. Really, just sticking to their morals and being good people (we all need more Sarah and Mark’s in the world). With Sarah providing a structured foundation and Mark providing a creative vision, they have built PromoSpark into what it is today.
Many years later, PromoSpark still has the same mission that began in that little one-bedroom apartment in Bowling Green – to embrace an Entrepreneurial Spirit within our employees and empower our clients to achieve their vision by providing complete solutions in branded apparel and promotional products.
Free Throws For Kids
Giving back is very important to our owners. In 2013 they started their own philanthropy called Free Throws For Kids.
In only a few short years, Free Throws For Kids has been able to raise over $760,000 and help more than 1,400 families at Children’s Hospital.
How PromoSpark Helps:
Free Throws for Kids was started by Mark and Sarah Johnston, owners of PromoSpark. They produce the team T-shirts free of charge, donate the bags and the goodies that go into them for each family, and give back with their time volunteering throughout the year and at the event.
